Principal UI/UX Designer

Created and implemented user interface designs balancing patient needs against system limitations for both patient feeding and pain management devices that were created and designed from ground up.

Conducted user evaluations, heuristic evaluations, and cognitive walkthroughs with team to identify and resolve usability issues, reducing use errors while improving user satisfaction.

Brought UI design in-house, outlining and guiding team through user-centered design process, improving quality and design turn around.​

Managed team of 2 UX Designers, guiding and leading user research and UI designs with focus on building stronger patient financial engagement for health systems, streamlining user workflows and improving patient adoption.

Instituted common language to improve communication between UX, Product, Marketing and Engineering by implementing Tenets and Traps heuristic framework, optimizing inter-team communications around identifying and understanding usability issues.

Conducted usability studies and RITE (Rapid Iterative Testing & Evaluation) studies of working software and Figma prototypes using both in-person testing and usertesting.com to identify and reduce use errors.

Led ethnographic research identifying low-hanging fruit and translated insights through Design Sprints into Step, Jump, and Leap solutions, increasing product offering value, improving user alignment, and strengthening competitive differentiation.

Implemented Jobs-to-be-Done framework to reframe user journey and unlock innovative designs for industrial printers, strengthening Honeywell's competitive position in safety and productivity solutions market.

Created and guided implementation and user testing of UI designs for rugged mobile computers and vehicle mounted computers, achieving more cohesive user experience within and across product lines.

​Led usability evaluations utilizing methods such as multidimensional scaling to investigate user preferences, creating highly desirable and engaging user experiences that drove product sales.

2008-2009

Developed user interface designs, workflows and information architectures for portable ultrasound machines - which were validated through site visits, expert reviews, and usability studies - achieving new, innovative workflows and increased clinician satisfaction.

Contributed to NanoMaxx portable ultrasound machine's national recognition as finalist for 2010 Edison Best New Product Award.

2006 - 2008

Usability Analyst 

Siemens IT Solutions (Microsoft), Redmond, WA

Product Division: Unified Communications:
Led benchmark studies, focus groups, participatory design sessions, and usability studies to obtain feedback on designs for contact cards, real-time document collaboration, incoming call alerts and hardware-integrated VOIP devices.

 

Product Division: Mobile Embedded Devices:
Led usability studies, comparative benchmarks, focus groups, and Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation (RITE) studies for Smart Phone and Pocket PC software applications, helping to create the initial UI for Windows Phone 7.
